Total Volume vs. Mixing Capacity
Don't be fooled by specs. A drum might have a Total Volume of 5 cu ft, but its Mixing Capacity is usually only 60% of that (3 cu ft). If you fill it to the brim, you can't mix!
All our ratings above refer to usable MIXING capacity.
Choose SMALL (3.5cf) if:
- You are working alone.
- You need to fit it in a hatchback/SUV.
- You only mix 1 bag at a time for fence posts.
Choose MEDIUM (6cf) if:
- You have a helper (one mixing, one pouring).
- You are pouring a patio or sidewalk.
- You want to finish the job 2x faster.
