Guide de capacité des camions à béton

Guide de planification de la capacité pour les camions malaxeurs, les limites de charge et la logistique de coulée.

Standard Truck

10 Yards

Rated max capacity (Cubic Yards)

Safe Load

9 Yards

Recommended to prevent spillage

Weight Fully Loaded

What is "One Yard" of Concrete?

One cubic yard (27 cubic feet) covers different areas depending on thickness. A fully loaded 10-yard truck can pour:

4" Thick
810 Square Feet (Typical Driveway)
6" Thick
540 Square Feet (Patio / Garage)
12" Thick
270 Sq Ft (Footings/Walls)

⚠️ Weight Limits & "Short Loading"

The "10 Yard" Myth: Even though a drum holds 10-11 yards, local road weight limits often restrict trucks to carrying only 8 or 9 yards legally.

If you need exactly 10 yards, you might be forced to pay for two trucks of 5 yards each, or risk an overweight ticket (which the driver will likely refuse).

ALWAYS ask your supplier: "What is the max yards you can haul to my specific location?"

Common Questions

What is a "Short Load"?

Any order less than 6-7 yards. Suppliers usually charge a "Short Load Fee" of $75+ to cover the truck's operating cost.

How much time do I have to unload?

You typically get 5-7 minutes per yard for free. A full truck of 10 yards gives you roughly 60 minutes. After that, you pay "demurrage" (waiting time) fees.

Need Small Batches?

Don't pay short load fees for small jobs. Use a portable mixer for projects under 2 yards.
